Specialist recruitment company secures new premises

Ion Tec Ltd is a specialist recruitment agency based in Doncaster, introducing engineers and skilled technicians to engineering and manufacturing companies in the South Yorkshire region. Previously trading as SP Recruitment Ltd, the decision was made in 2021 to rebrand, secure offices, establish a brand/online presence and grow the company.

Business owner, Steve Parkinson started the business with the aim to become the recognised, local go-to recruitment agency for companies requiring technical staff in industries such as Aerospace, Oil & Gas, Automotive, Fabrication, Automation and Materials Handling.       

Steve said: “We like to sit down with candidates and get to know them - in fact, this is the most enjoyable part of the work we undertake, as well as visiting site. We enjoy listening to those that seek to actively implement innovation, and share their passion for engineering”.

To enable further business growth, Ion Tec has secured facilities at APEX Office Space, a prestigious serviced office centre with close proximity to the M18.

Ion Tec employed its first member of staff, Connor Bycroft at the start of April 2022 with the intent to employ a further 4 staff members by the close of this financial year in order to meet demand, ensure a high standard of service and increase the number of companies they represent.

With a huge demand for skilled staff – a state-of-the-art CRM system has been implemented into the business allowing full information recording and build of an internal database.

Business Doncaster has supported us in a number of ways and continue to do so. The business received support in accessing an Economic Recovery Grant that allowed for investment into both IT and HR; both critical functions for a recruitment business.

Business Growth Advisor, Steve Swann is continuing to support in other areas of growth and development, including cash flow, employing additional staff, upskilling and referring to the Ownership Hub / Employee Ownership Association within the region.
