American Golf Doncaster swings open its new doors

The store provides an interactive custom fitting experience and analysis, tour-level putter fitting, custom-swing tech, a huge range of clubs for all abilities plus top golf advice.

American Golf, Europe’s leading golf retailer, has opened a brand-new retail store at Centurion Retail Park, Doncaster and is inviting golfers of all abilities to visit and experience its state-of-the-art custom fitting technology.

Whether you’re green to the green or a seasoned swinger, getting fitted for the right clubs will help improve your game to lower scores and allow you to develop as a golfer. Clubs will be tailored to the individual’s unique swing characteristics, not just their measurements, and will factor in ball speed and launch to ensure the clubs work to support the player’s performance, helping them to reach their full potential on course.

Featuring two custom fit bays, players visiting the relocated American Golf Doncaster store will be lucky enough to benefit from the incredible Foresight Sports GC3 golf launch monitor, which features a three-camera system that delivers ball and club performance data with industry-leading precision.

Experts at American Golf Doncaster will use this technology to help players improve their overall game, helping to overcome poor swings and improve shot accuracy by recording individual hits. This will then allow players to shape their shots and remedy any niggling issues they may have with their game.

American Golf Doncaster also offers Visio Putting training aids, developed by Phil Kenyon, PGA Master Golf Professional and Specialist Putting Coach, which allow players to hone their skills and focus on how to increase the precision of their putting in-store.

In addition, visitors to store can benefit from the new iPING 2.0 app which gives players the ability to measure what can’t be seen with the naked eye, ensuring golfers experience a tour-level putter fitting. The patented technology measures and analyses five key performance indicators in the putting stroke; 1) Closing angle; 2) Impact angle; 3) Tempo; 4) Lie angle and 5) Shaft lean. These stroke metrics, combined with detailed input from the golfer, are analysed by a proprietary fitting algorithm which recommends the proper stroke type, length, loft, lie and weight for a PING putter – genius!

Neil Cottam, store manager at American Golf Doncaster said: “Our new Doncaster store has been designed to encourage player participation and offer every tool possible to help support and improve a player’s game. Visitors to store will have access to expertise from our pros, free custom fitting which utilises cutting edge technology and a huge range of big-name brands to help boost players’ confidence out on the course.

“Like all American Golf stores, when you walk through our Doncaster doors, you’re promised an interactive experience that will inspire your future golfing journey. We’re excited to welcome golfers of all ages and abilities into our new Doncaster home.”

Offering a wide selection of golf clubs, equipment, clothing and footwear, American Golf Doncaster stocks leading brands such as PING, Calvin Klein, Ellesse Golf, Puma, Tour Edge, Golfino, Stromberg, Benross and Greg Norman.
