Arts and Creative Commission Opportunities in Doncaster

Doncaster Council is currently seeking artists and creatives to take part in two opportunities in Doncaster.

These commissions and roles form part of the ongoing work to support and develop the cultural sector in the city.

Commission 1 – Arts Development (Culture Partnership)

Doncaster Culture Partnership is looking to appoint to a fixed-term, externally funded role to support the development of Doncaster’s independent arts sector.

This six-month commission will focus on strengthening networks, supporting freelance creatives and helping to shape a clear and sustainable direction for future cultural development within the city.

The role will involve engagement with local artists and organisations, testing approaches to visibility and collaboration, and identifying future opportunities for investment and growth.

Deadline: Friday 3 July

Commission 2 – Gateway One Public Artwork Commission

City of Doncaster Council is seeking an artist or creative organisation to deliver a permanent public artwork as part of the Gateway One development, a key arrival point into Doncaster city centre.

The commission will create a distinctive and high-quality piece that reflects Doncaster’s identity and contributes to the character of this important new public space.

The artwork should work across both day and night, with a particular emphasis on the integration of lighting where appropriate.

Deadline: Friday 10 July

How to apply

Applications for both opportunities should be submitted by email to: artistsforum@doncaster.gov.uk and include a brief proposal, examples of relevant work and confirmation of availability.
