Bawtry lingerie and swimwear boutique launches new website

Support from Business Doncaster, including funding via the Economic Recovery Grant, helped develop the up to date and fresh website.

& She Knows is an independent lingerie and swimwear boutique in the heart of Bawtry, a thriving market town in Doncaster. The boutique provides a highly recommended bra fitting service, stocking mainly European brands sought after for the highest quality and has won industry awards for excellent customer service.

Business owner, Emily Harbon set the business up ten years ago following a twenty-two year career in law and IT. After gaining skills and experience in various aspects of business management coupled with the desire to work in a more female orientated environment, Emily looked at the opportunities available at the time and decided to locate in Bawtry.

Since then she has built a substantial customer base of women who seek the bespoke fitting service together with the quality of the brands, with the vast majority of her business coming from repeat custom and recommendations.

The boutique opened in 2012 on the back of a recession and more recently has faced challenges such as the pandemic and Brexit, but is fortunate to have survived, mainly due to the ongoing business support from Business Doncaster and her loyal customers.

“When I am in the boutique my objective is to make every woman look and feel confident in their clothes. Lingerie is the foundation of every outfit and without the correct fit and style women will never look as good as they perhaps could. Lingerie that is the correct fit can visually take pounds off your silhouette as well as providing the correct amount of support, whilst also protecting your neck, shoulders and upper spine” said Emily.

She added: “I am passionate about what I do, the brands I stock, the quality, design and the integrity in terms of production. The training that is undertaken and the care for their employees across Europe is far removed from the factory conditions that the High Street and fast fashion generally subscribes to”.

The business has a new website, launching on the 18th November, designed to direct women to the boutique for fitting rather than to purchase online. That said the boutique has many customers across the UK so the website will assist those further afield to purchase online.

Emily received help with funding her new website via the Economic Recovery Grant and through support from Business Doncaster and is pleased to have a more up to date, fresh website that can be viewed with ease on all the latest platforms.

In summer 2023, Emily is launching a bespoke swimwear cover-up range to compliment the SS23 swimwear collections she has selected and will be her first attempt at stocking her own brand.
