Business Doncaster is encouraging businesses across the region to take part in a new survey designed to map Yorkshire’s strengths in defence, security, aerospace, cyber and dual‑use supply chains.
Commissioned by the four Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authorities - South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, York and North Yorkshire, and Hull and East Yorkshire - the study aims to build a comprehensive evidence base of businesses currently active in, or with the potential to enter, these growing sectors.
The findings will help understand the region’s capabilities, identify gaps and emerging opportunities, and assess skills needs across Yorkshire. Crucially, the results will also inform consideration of whether to establish a dedicated Yorkshire Defence and Security Cluster to support collaboration, innovation and inward investment.

The survey takes approximately five minutes to complete, and all responses will be treated in strict confidence. Data will be reported only in aggregated form, and no individual business will be identified without prior consent.
Businesses of all sizes - whether already working within defence and security supply chains or exploring opportunities to diversify are encouraged to participate.
