Community Health Partnerships will remodel The Orchard Centre to create three new GP clinical rooms and additional capacity for community healthcare services
Community Health Partnerships (CHP) is investing £783,000 to expand primary care and community healthcare services at The Orchard Centre in Doncaster.
The project will create three new GP clinical rooms, an administrative office and a bookable clinical room for community services delivered by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH).
The additional capacity is expected to support around 44,000 more appointments each year, improving access to local services and reducing the need for patients to travel to hospital, approximately 13 miles away.
The new bookable room will accommodate health visitor clinics, specialist community nursing clinics and mental health services, expanding the range of care available at the centre.
Construction is expected to begin in November 2026, with completion scheduled for March 2027.
CHP is delivering the project in partnership with Thorne Moor Medical Practice, South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board, Doncaster Estates Partnerships and Sewell Advisory.
“This investment will create much-needed additional primary care and community clinical capacity at The Orchard Centre, helping thousands more patients access high-quality care closer to home,” said Dr Jane Fitch, Regional Director - North East, Community Health Partnerships.
