The Rybec Group was successful in receiving the Tech Welcome Grant, an initiative to encourage new and existing businesses to Doncaster and additional support in securing an office location for the first time, as well as create additional jobs.
As we spend more time in the digital world and with more data stored online, staying safe and protecting data has become a top priority for all businesses.
One year ago, The Rybec Group was just an idea and a vision…with a passion for cyber security. Today, the business has just moved into their very first permanent office at Gresley House, Doncaster.
The Rybec Group was formed in November 2022, when Chris Eastwood and Alistair Kennedy both retired from the cybercrime units in the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit (Chris) and Humberside Police (Alistair). With over 40 years policing experience, Chris and Alistair have a unique insight into cyber-crime and the criminal mindset of cyber offenders, allowing them to offer the level of expertise unmatched in the industry.
Shortly after starting their business, they were handpicked by Barclays Eagle Labs and international innovation company Plexal to take part in the first Manchester DiSH cyber accelerator program for up-and-coming cyber businesses and have been named as one of the top ten cyber start-up businesses to watch.
Both Chris and Alistair are experts in their field and passionate about helping businesses understand the ever-changing cyber security landscape and data protection rules for the UK and the World.
Tailored to individual business needs, they take the time to understand your business and your specific cybersecurity risks and develop a bespoke solution that meets your needs, offering competitive rates and flexible payment options.
Their journey over the past year has been nothing short of incredible. They’ve had the privilege of working with some amazing clients, tackling complex cyber security challenges and helping businesses protect their digital assets.
The business was successful in receiving the Tech Welcome Grant, an initiative to encourage new and existing businesses to Doncaster and additional support in securing an office location for the first time, as well as create additional jobs. Chris and Alistair chose Doncaster as their business home and here’s the reasons why:
Chris said: “We are excited to be a part of the Doncaster business community, and we look forward to continuing to grow our business in the region”.
“Thank you to Business Doncaster, BizSpace, Makauley Barron and Gemma White for making the move possible and to everyone who has been part of our journey so far. We can’t wait to see what the future holds as we continue to evolve and make cyber space safer, one step at a time”.
The Rybec Group currently consists of Chris, Alistair and an additional 3 employees, however this number is predicted to grow by the end of the year.
