Crucial funding helped kick-start a chain of positive business activity and has supported over 200 businesses.
The COVID-19 pandemic and resulting economic disruption placed significant pressure on local businesses. As a result, an Economic Recovery Grant (ERG) was made available by Business Doncaster, on behalf of Doncaster Council to support local businesses and assist in their recovery.
This grant was specifically aimed at encouraging business survival, recovery and job safeguarding/creation through a package of incentives with eligible businesses being able to access grants up to £5,000.
Over 200 businesses have been supported from a funding pot of over £900,000.
This crucial funding helped to boost the local economy and kick-start a chain of positive business activity across the City of Doncaster and has supported over 200 businesses with a total funding pot over £900,000.
One of the businesses to benefit from the Economic Recovery Grant was CLS Nail & Beauty, who used the grant to purchase an iPad and computer to create a staff booking system. Business owner Charlotte Sharpe said: “I feel so much more organised and professional now thanks to the support from Business Doncaster and the Economic Recovery Grant”.

After moving to Doncaster in 2019 primarily due to affordable accommodation and great transport links, Oraphim registered as a limited company during lockdown in May 2020.
