Doncaster chosen as hub for fast-rising company Structural Repair Solutions

By Heather Hamilton

Founded in 2019 by CEO Roger Line, the company has quickly established itself as a leader in complex structural remediation and strengthening, delivering projects across the UK and Europe. Now employing around 80 people, the business operates across sectors including transport, defence, utilities, marine and commercial infrastructure, specialising in technically challenging and high-risk environments.

At the core of the company’s approach is a commitment to sustainability. Rather than defaulting to demolition and replacement, Structural Repair Solutions promotes a “repair over replacement” philosophy, helping to reduce waste, cut carbon emissions and extend the life of ageing infrastructure. This focus aligns closely with the UK’s net zero ambitions and the growing pressure to manage infrastructure more sustainably.

Ros Jones, Mayor of Doncaster said: “This investment is a powerful endorsement of Doncaster’s growing reputation as a hub for innovation and sustainable industry. Structural Repair Solutions forward‑thinking approach and commitment to advancing national net-zero ambitions are exactly what we need to drive meaningful change.

“Their decision to locate here reflects not only Doncaster’s industrial strength and skilled workforce, but also the supportive, collaborative environment we’ve worked hard to create for businesses to grow and succeed.”

The business was founded following significant personal adversity faced by Roger Line, whose resilience and passion for solving complex engineering problems have shaped the company’s innovative and unconventional approach.

Roger said: “From the very beginning, the aim was to challenge conventional thinking. Too often, the default approach is demolition and replacement. We’ve built a business around proving there’s a better way, one that’s more sustainable, more efficient, and often more effective.”

Doncaster was chosen as the next stage of the company’s growth due to its strong connectivity, industrial heritage, skilled workforce and supportive business environment. Backing from Business Doncaster has played an important role in facilitating the move, helping the company establish local connections and accelerate its investment plans.

Roger added: “Doncaster stood out immediately. The city has the infrastructure, the talent and, importantly, the ambition. The support from Business Doncaster has been exceptional, proactive, engaged and genuinely invested in helping businesses like ours grow.”

Over the next 12 months, Structural Repair Solutions plans to expand its Doncaster base significantly, increasing manufacturing capacity, growing its research and development capability, and creating new skilled jobs. The company is also developing new proprietary products to support low-carbon engineering and infrastructure preservation.

With long-term ambitions to make Doncaster a central hub for innovation and operations, the expansion marks a major milestone for both the business and the regional economy, positioning them at the forefront of sustainable infrastructure engineering.
