A Doncaster business owner who left school at 15 while pregnant has published her first book at the age of 48, drawing on 16 years of teaching & a personal journey of resilience.
Nadia Jennings, based in Edlington, has written Qualified to Teach… Now What? Practical Guidance for Becoming a Confident Educator, published under her soon-to-be married name, Nadia Carr-Barker.
The book supports newly qualified educators across a wide range of industries as they take their first steps into teaching. It brings together practical guidance, reflection activities & personal experiences to help readers build confidence beyond gaining their qualification.
Nadia has spent almost 30 years in the beauty industry & owns Deity Aesthetics, Beauty & Education, providing treatments & personalised training in Doncaster. She is also developing NJ Beauty Academy, an online extension of her education business, with the belief that online training should still come with personal support.
Her path to becoming an educator & author has included teenage motherhood, bereavement, personal trauma & breast cancer. Alongside its practical teaching advice, the book shares the experiences that shaped her approach to supporting others.
Through her teaching, business & now her writing, Nadia hopes to encourage people who may doubt their own potential, showing that a difficult start or setbacks along the way do not have to determine what comes next.
Qualified to Teach… Now What? is available on Amazon in paperback for £12.99 & Kindle for £7.99.
