Doncaster firm leads US delegation to drive AI adoption

Doncaster AI firm Automated Analytics led a delegation last week to Carolina in the US in collaboration with the British American Business Council, to help drive US AI adoption - demonstrating local leadership from Doncaster having impact across the pond.

The delegation included Lord Kulveer Ranger, Non-Executive Director of Automated Analytics and Vice-Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Artificial Intelligence, who provided the keynote speech.

Lord Ranger’s speech focussed on how artificial intelligence is reshaping the political and economic landscapes of both the UK and the United States, with a focus on how differing policy approaches influence innovation, investment, and growth.

Drawing on his frontline advisory experience, especially with Automated Analytics - he suggested that businesses operating across both markets are uniquely positioned to lead in this new era.

The speech set out a forward-looking vision of UK–US collaboration as a defining force for democratic, responsible, and globally competitive AI.

Mark Taylor, CEO, Automated Analytics who led the delegation said, “Our trip to the US last week highlighted the challenges SME’s are facing both sides of the pond in implementing AI.

“Too often the conversation around AI focuses on what it takes away - jobs and cost cutting. But, having implemented AI for thousands of companies on our doorstep in Doncaster and globally this is not representative of our experience - instead, companies are using AI to grow, become more productive and increasing headcount to copy with increased demand.”

Taylor added "What was very evident last week is the challenges in AI adoption in the USA are almost identical to the UK for SME’s - I know I need to adopt AI, but where do I start? Those that have adopted AI have picked a simple use case that’s replaced manual tasks, like report generation or analytics, enabling their colleagues to become more productive and to focus on what matters most.

“This is the competitive edge AI can drive when implemented correctly - removing mundane tasks and creating better data enabling teams to focus on driving growth, not mundane reports. We are still at the early stages of adoption but those organisations that are testing simple use cases with AI as a growth engine are seeing the benefits. Those that see it as a way of cutting staff, simply aren’t. because they aren’t harnessing AI’s true value. "
