A brand-new jazz lounge is set to open in Doncaster, offering live music, expertly crafted cocktails and an atmosphere inspired by the iconic jazz bars of New York.
Misty's Jazz Lounge will officially open on Thursday 10 September, located above The White Bear on Hall Gate, formerly known as Flares. The venue is believed to be the first of its kind in Doncaster, combining live jazz performances with signature cocktails named after classic jazz songs.
Both The White Bear and Misty's Jazz Lounge are owned and operated by Doncaster couple Lilly Anna and Simon Gaskell, who have spent months transforming the space into a unique destination for music lovers.
The couple have worked tirelessly to recreate the atmosphere and memories once associated with The White Bear downstairs, while also bringing a completely new experience to the city through the creation of Misty's.
After months of early mornings, late nights and extensive renovation work, including demolition, construction, decorating and meticulous planning, the venue is now ready to welcome guests.
Featuring rich red interiors, touches of gold, luxurious velvet drapes and subtle nods to the city that inspired its design, the spirit of New York has arrived in Doncaster.
Owners Lilly Anna and Simon said: "We have always loved jazz, but there isn't anywhere locally where people can really enjoy it. The nearest venue is in Leeds.
We took a research trip to New York to visit authentic jazz bars and gathered ideas that we could bring back to Doncaster."
Inspired by their visit, the couple set about transforming the upstairs space into Misty's Jazz Lounge, named after their first cat, Misty.
The venue aims to provide a welcoming space where guests can enjoy live music, quality drinks and a sophisticated jazz-inspired atmosphere in the heart of the city.
