Have Your Say – Help Shape the Future Local Plan

The Local Plan Scoping Consultation is an early opportunity for businesses, landowners, developers, residents, infrastructure providers and statutory consultees to give their opinions on the content of the Doncaster Local Plan, and how we might approach things in the future.

Doncaster Council is preparing a new Local Plan, which will provide the planning policy framework for managing growth and change in Doncaster to 2039 as a minimum, including new planning policies for Doncaster, and land allocations to meet our development needs moving forward.

The Scoping Consultation is the first of three consultations which we will undertake on the new Local Plan and is an early opportunity to collect your views and thoughts on development in Doncaster. The requirement to undertake this consultation is set out in The Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2026, Part 4, Regulation 20.

We want your opinions on a range of Local Plan themes, such as housing, the economy, climate, the environment, placemaking and minerals, as well as how we engage with you in the future. Your input will help shape the future direction of the Local Plan, which we will develop and refine over the next three years.

The consultation provides contextual information and discussion around a range of Local Plan themes and asks questions in relation to them. You may complete as many or as few questions as you wish.

Please remember you must get to the final page of the consultation and click to submit the form for us to receive your comments, irrespective of how many questions you wish to answer. If you do not wish to answer questions on a particular theme, you may simply move on to the next.

The consultation runs from 19 August – 5pm Monday 21 September 2026.
