Doncaster Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce Jill Wood as its new President, taking over from outgoing President Fabian Braithwaite.
Jill, Managing Director of Signum Facilities Management Ltd, brings extensive expertise, a strong commitment to local businesses, and a passion for fostering sustainable growth and community prosperity.
“I’m honoured to return as President,” Jill said. “Doncaster is on the cusp of incredible opportunities, I’m deeply committed to supporting businesses across Doncaster to connect, thrive and grow. The Chamber plays a vital role in bringing businesses together, championing their voices and creating opportunity, and I’m proud to continue that work alongside our members.”
Jill previously served as President during one of the most challenging periods in recent history, leading the Chamber through the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021. During that time, she worked tirelessly to ensure members’ voices were heard, prioritising their needs and collaborating closely with the Chamber’s CEO to support local businesses through unprecedented uncertainty. Her leadership then demonstrated resilience, strategic thinking, and a deep commitment to the Doncaster business community - qualities she brings to her new term.
Throughout her career, Jill has championed the growth of SMEs and the wider business community. She understands the importance of creating the right conditions for businesses to thrive and has worked tirelessly to support local enterprises, lobbying for opportunities that strengthen Doncaster’s economy. Beyond her professional achievements, Jill has significant civic experience, having served on the board of Exceed Learning Partnership and supported charitable initiatives such as Grassroots Sports. Her dedication to the community aligns closely with the Chamber’s mission to promote economic growth and create opportunity for all.
Jill steps into the presidency following the successful leadership of Fabian Braithwaite, Managing Partner at HSR Law Solicitors. Over the past two years, Fabian has led the Chamber with vision, purpose, and dedication, strengthening its influence and impact across Doncaster’s business community. During his tenure, he championed charitable initiatives, including raising thousands of pounds for YWCA and Yorkshire Adoption Agency through the Doncaster Business Awards, while ensuring that the Chamber remained a strong advocate for businesses of all sizes and sectors.
Fabian Braithwaite, former President of Doncaster Chamber, said, “It has been a tremendous privilege to serve as President of Doncaster Chamber of Commerce. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together and grateful to the Chamber team, Board, and members for their support throughout my presidency. The Doncaster Chamber has never been stronger. Its institutional effectiveness and credibility are apparent.
I’m delighted that Jill Wood will be taking on the role next. Jill is an outstanding advocate for business and for Doncaster, and I know she will lead the Chamber with real energy and purpose. I wish her every success and look forward to continuing to support the Chamber’s work.”
The Chamber is proud to continue its focus on supporting local businesses as they navigate the evolving economic landscape following the 2026 Budget. With Jill’s return to the presidency, members can expect strong leadership that combines stability, ambition, and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing Doncaster enterprises.
Jill’s passion for SMEs and community development, combined with her ability to provide reassurance and strategic guidance, positions the Chamber to maintain momentum and drive business confidence across the region. She recognises the vital role that business and civic collaboration play in building thriving communities and is committed to representing companies of all sizes, ensuring their voices are heard, and supporting their growth.
The Chamber extends its sincere thanks to Fabian for his exceptional service and leadership over the past two years. His contributions have strengthened the organisation and left a lasting legacy, creating a strong platform for Jill to lead the Chamber into an exciting new chapter. Together, the transition reflects continuity, ambition, and a shared dedication to Doncaster’s business and community success.
