Laser Additive Solutions succeed with NATEP funding

The funding has been secured for it's ‘Sharp-LASE’ project to develop an automated robot-controlled precision laser hardening process

Laser Additive Solutions (LAS) is delighted to announce that it has been successful in securing funding from the NATEP - National Aerospace Technology Exploitation Programme for its collaborative R&D project ‘Sharp-LASE’.

The 18-month ‘Sharp-LASE’ project will develop an automated robot-controlled precision laser hardening process, tested and proved to aerospace standards.

Using existing production components which are normally induction hardened, the project will demonstrate the improved accuracy and reliability achievable through laser hardening compared to conventional methods.

LAS and its collaborative partners, Agemaspark and Doncaster Analytical Scotland LTD, were supported by NATEP during the application process and awarded funding through Innovate UKs “NATEP helping SMEs Innovate in Aerospace - Spring 2022” competition.
