With Peaky Blinders hype building ahead of the new film The Immortal Man, starring Cillian Murphy as the iconic Tommy Shelby, why wouldn’t you open a Peaky Blinders–themed bar in Doncaster?
The BBC series has become a huge part of British culture, spilling out into society far beyond the docks of Birmingham — and we are absolutely here for it.
We’re hoping for Baker Boy caps, full tweed outfits and a stunning boozer to match, packed with the kind of old-fashioned charm that modern bars just don’t deliver. Brought to you by the team behind Doncaster’s popular Irish bar, The Temple on the Market Place, the new Peaky Blinders–themed venue is set to be a huge hit, with The Temple already one of the city’s go-to spots.
Opening next door to the Irish bar, the owners shared the news on social media, writing: “We are delighted to announce the acquisition of the old Marketplace Ale House last Friday. The Temple has a new little sister! Introducing THE SHELBY 1903.
“Our new venue pays homage to the famous Peaky Blinders — think the iconic Garrison, exclusivity, speakeasy-style dark and premium vibes. This new venue will catapult you back to the Peaky era, offering the most premium serves in the city. Renovations are currently underway. Follow along for the journey — it’s going to be special.”
Paying homage to The Garrison, the fictional bar Peaky Blinders, The Shelby 1903 is sure to be a welcome addition to the city of Doncaster.
