About us: Get Doncaster Moving is not one single organisation or project. It is the name of Doncaster's approach to tackling inequalities in physical activity. It involves a wide range of stakeholders working together to achieve our shared vision of 'healthy and vibrant communities through movement, physical activity and sport'. There is a small central team, based within Doncaster Council, who help to co-ordinate this work on behalf of the partnership.
The Role: As a member of this dynamic and influential board, you will play a pivotal role in shaping opportunities for Doncaster's communities to become more physically active, healthy and vibrant. The Get Doncaster Moving Advisory Board comprises of senior representatives from various sectors with a shared vision. Their key role involves leading and coordinating efforts to enhance physical activity in Doncaster. They oversee the strategy's direction, drive its implementation, and ensure progress within their respective areas. Additionally, they gather and share local insights to advocate for investment in physical activity. The board also influences and advocates for change, fostering partnerships and embedding physical activity in local policies.
Get Doncaster Moving are open to discussions with any willing and passionate individuals; however, they have identified gaps in representation from the following areas:
