Residents encouraged to ‘have their say’ on airspace

The consultation, which is part of the official Airspace Change Process (ACP) connected with the airport’s reopening, goes live today and concludes on Sunday 04^th October.

The consultation has previously been described as “crucial” by airport bosses, who are seeking to gather views from a wide variety of sources. The proposals seek to reinstate controlled airspace around the airport, allowing much greater autonomy over aircraft and introduce arrival and departure routes.. Controlled airspace will allow the airport team to successfully and safely manage traffic and provides additional reassurance to airlines and other aviators.

A number of measures are being taken to engage with potential respondents, including: posters being published in selected locations across the consultation area; the delivery of leaflets to households and businesses; printed consultation materials being available in 14 locations; webinars; and a number of in-person events, whereby members of the team will be on-hand to answer questions.
