Plans for the expansion of a South Yorkshire business park with a series of new units that could support the creation of 300 jobs have been given the go ahead.
Total Developments UK, supported by ID Planning, submitted plans to Doncaster Council last year, following a consultation exercise, for development on land off Balby Carr Bank.
The development will comprise about 272,000 sq ft of employment space, across four new industrial units.
The units would range in size from about 34,000 sq ft to 137,000 sq ft, and would include office space.
The units would form the second phase of the Total Park scheme.
Total Developments is targeting a BREEAM Excellent sustainability rating and plans to include a range of sustainability measures, such as electric vehicle charging points.
The completed units could support the creation of at least 300 jobs as well as further employment opportunities during the construction phase. This would add to the potential for 450 jobs in Phase 1, comprising five units.
A statement submitted as part of the application said: "The proposal as a whole will deliver a significant range of social and economic benefits through the creation of around 300 new employment opportunities in a sustainable location associated with each of the proposed units and their construction."
The council has now granted approval for the development, subject to conditions and the signing of a legal agreement, under delegated powers.
