A range of support helped make the dream of owning a business become a reality
Boston & Co. is a café based in the historic Bentley Pavilion in Bentley Park. The café opened its doors earlier this year and has already proved popular with Doncaster folk for its lovely atmosphere as well as food and drink offerings.
Owner Amelia Boston has created a vibrant space to relax and dine, offering breakfast, lunch, snacks and sweet treats whilst also being able to manage and cater for events in the Pavilion Hall as well as the café space.
Amelia has worked in hospitality since she landed her first Job at 16 (now 27) working primarily as a hospitality manager and events sales coordinator. She has always dreamt of owning her own business and the café is the perfect place to put her own ideas into action.
Business Doncaster has been on hand to support with a business plan, managing cash flow and offering marketing/business support sessions which have been really insightful.
Amelia said: “I received an Economic Recovery Grant which has massively helped the business to hit the ground running. I am still in contact with the Business Doncaster team and it is great to know that I have people there who can help me when needed, even if it is to bounce off small ideas”.
“With support from the grant and Business Doncaster, we have been able to provide an outdoor seating area where people can watch their children play on the park whilst enjoying a drink or lunch. It has also enabled us to expand the menu, offering food experiences such as afternoon teas” she added.
The café ethos is to provide quality but affordable eating out experiences in a space that people feel comfortable and at home in. They care about making positive changes in the community, providing a welcoming space where people can enjoy a range of hospitality from a morning coffee to a large celebration, right on their doorstep.
