We are asking businesses and end users to tell us about business needs and requirements in Doncaster.
City of Doncaster Council is asking for help in producing evidence base work for the new Doncaster Local Plan. The Local Plan will set out how Doncaster will grow and develop from 2029 to 2039 as a minimum, including new planning policies and land allocations to meet Doncaster’s economic and business needs.
One of the evidence base documents will be an Employment Land Need Assessment (ELNA). The ELNA will forecast Doncaster’s future employment land needs for the new Local Plan and help us to decide on the type of locations that may be suitable for employment land and businesses. To do this, we will assess market demand within Doncaster but also consider external factors affecting the Doncaster market. As part of this work, we are inviting businesses to complete a survey which includes questions on the types of businesses in Doncaster, as well as current and future business needs and requirements.
You can take part in the survey by completing our online consultation here: Doncaster Business Land and Premises Survey 2026.
It is being managed by consultancy Iceni Projects on behalf of the City of Doncaster Council. It will take approximately 10 minutes to complete and all responses will be treated as confidential and non-identifiable. Please ensure you go to the final page of the survey to submit your answers.
The survey is open until Friday 4 December 2026.
