A service celebrating the life and legacy of Sir Nigel Gresley, open to all - whether of faith or no faith.

Join us for a special Service of Celebration at Doncaster Minster to mark Gresley 150 - a milestone year commemorating 150 years since the birth of Sir Nigel Gresley, one of Britain’s most influential railway engineers.

Taking place at 6:00 pm on Thursday, 18 June, the service forms part of a wider programme of activity celebrating Gresley’s remarkable legacy.

Hosted in the historic surroundings of Doncaster Minster, the service will last approximately 45–50 minutes and will be led by Railway Chaplains Frances Roscoe and Colin Fraser.

The service has been designed to feel accessible and welcoming to all, regardless of faith or background, and will reflect on Gresley’s contribution to railway history and the enduring impact of his work.
