Doncaster’s Brand New Multiplex Cinema Opening 17th May!

The wait is over for Doncaster’s brand new luxury cinema as Savoy announces it will open on17th May! The Savoy team have been raring to get started since completion on the site in August but unable to open due to the pandemic.

Savoy Managing Director James Collington said: "After a long wait, we are extremely excited and proud to finally be able to open our brand new state of the art cinema and bring the Savoy experience to Doncaster Town Centre."

Cinema-goers can expect to experience the latest blockbuster releases in the highest quality surroundings. The highly anticipated new addition to The Civic and Cultural Quarter in Doncaster centre will accommodate luxury recliner and rocker seating across all six auditoria. Along with this, Screen 1offers premium Vertex viewing, with 4k next-generation laser projection and Dolby Atmos immersive sound to give you a movie experience you won’t forget! Travel to the cinema is widely accessible as it is located near various bus stops in the Waterdale area, and 4 hour parking at £1in the Civic Quarter Car Park being available exclusively for Savoy guests.

Our high streets and town centres are changing, we need more leisure, residential and cultural offerings to encourage people back into the town centre, to make it a vibrant place again.

“As we start to open up as the Covid pandemic eases, Doncaster residents and visitors are set to enjoy some wonderful new experiences. This development is a big vote of confidence in our town and borough with a lot more to look forward to.”

Nothing compares to watching a movie on the big screen with the smell of freshly cooked popcorn, so what movies can we expect to see this summer? The opening week’s film schedule at Savoy sees a family favourite return to the big screen in the long-awaited ‘Peter Rabbit 2’.Horror fanatics can also enjoy ‘Spiral’, the terrifying new chapter from the book of Saw. Tickets will be on sale for the opening week from May 10th. This summer is jam-packed with a fantastic line up of blockbuster movie releases to enjoy, including Marvel’s Black Widow, Fast and Furious 9, A Quiet Place 2, The Croods 2 and A Space Jam: New Legacy, before September 30th sees the return of James Bond, in No Time To Die!

Savoy Doncaster is the sixth site in Savoy’s expanding cinema chain, which offers the latest state of the art cinematic experience for premium viewing across the Midlands. As well as the latest Hollywood releases, screenings of live events will be a regular feature, including theatre, opera, ballet and concerts streamed real-time from landmark venues across the world. The cinema will be accessible to all with regular subtitled showings, discounted kids club and the immensely popular silver screen dedicated to guests over 50. Screen hire opportunities for children’s parties, conferences or large private bookings will also be available.
