Merger widens access to specialist legal services

TWO Yorkshire firms of solicitors have joined forces to build on their past success over hundreds of years and drive forward with client satisfaction and quality service at the core of their business.

Doncaster based Dawson and Burgess and Thorne, Goole and Wakefield based Kenyon Son and Craddock merged on April 1, 2022. Individually, both firms have been serving their local communities and clients further afield for more than 175 years. Combined, they will be able to offer both existing and new clients access to specialist support in the areas of personal injury, wills and probate, residential, commercial and agricultural conveyancing, family and general litigation.

The merged firm will be led by partners Tony Henshaw, Kristen Craig, Gemma Canli and Janice Oxley, all specialists in their own fields.  They will be supported by a team of loyal and dedicated staff who are proud of their long-standing reputation and shared commitment to providing excellent client care.

For the foreseeable future the two firms will continue to trade under their individual names while, behind the scenes, clients will benefit from increased capacity and efficiency.

“We are really excited by the prospect of joining two long-standing local law firms who both share a commitment to tradition, respect and value their excellent reputation built over many years while also recognising the need to meet client needs in a modern and approachable way,” explained Tony Henshaw, Personal Injury and Litigation Partner from Kenyon Son and Craddock.

“We have a genuine shared ethos of how we want to work going forward based on a commitment to provide excellent legal services. Together, we look forward to continuing to deliver those in the highly professional and approachable manner our clients expect and deserve,” added Kristen Craig, Wills and Probate Partner from Dawson and Burgess.
