Doncaster company wins maintenance work at Lakeside Village

Lakeside Village has appointed a local company to complete essential remedial work on the centre’s roof.

Last year the leading retail outlet, which is home to major brands such as Clarks, M&S Outlet and GAP Outlet, finished a £1m refurbishment programme with everything from the shop fronts to the landscaping of the site enhanced.

And now, during this current national lock down period, essential work is set to start as Doncaster Maintenance begins the job of future proofing the centre’s roof.

Di Rodgers, centre manager at Lakeside Village, said: “It’s obviously been a difficult time for everyone, including retail and us here at Lakeside Village, but throughout last year we continued with our refurbishment plans finishing the major front facing work. We have now turned our attention to this essential roof work to make sure it is secure for years to come and delivering on our commitment to invest in the centre’s long-term future. Despite this challenging period, we are confident that when we come out the other side of this pandemic, we will be back stronger than ever.

“We are really pleased to be working with the team at Doncaster Maintenance who won the competitive tender for this work. It is important that the local business community here in Doncaster is able to support each other, particularly at the moment so it’s a really good fit for us.”

Mark Savage, operations director at Doncaster Maintenance, said: “We have over 20 years’ experience in the maintenance service field and as a Doncaster company, we were thrilled to win this contract with Lakeside Village which is such a well-known name in this area.

“Amongst other things, we will be recoating the original roof with a new generation silicone hybrid coating system called Giromax Roof coat RC to ensure the profiled metal roof panels last for the next 20 years. We’re looking forward to getting started!”
