Electric Vehicle Skills Academy available in Doncaster

If you are 19 or over, work in the motor trade and would like to expand your skillset, then this course is for you.

With the significant increase in EV sales and the present fleet of hybrid and electric vehicles on the road ageing and moving, from service requirements to now requiring complex maintenance and repair, ongoing training is necessary to help bridge the gap.

Raytheon Professional Services operate a national apprenticeship centre located at Rands Lane Industrial Estate, Doncaster, primarily to train automotive technicians and deliver apprenticeship learning to both apprentices and employers through classroom training, virtual learning and workplace visits.

The Electric Vehicle (EV) Skills Academy run by Raytheon Professional Services LLC, a subsidiary of Raytheon Company, is a government funded Skills Bootcamp that provides the knowledge, skills and qualifications that technicians need to upskill and work on these new complex vehicles, whilst also carrying out diagnostic, testing and repair activities.

Upon completion of the Skills Bootcamp, you will receive a certificate outlining topics and modules covered, and competencies you achieved during the programme.

This scheme is particularly beneficial for automotive businesses wanting to upskill staff, diversify their offer and ensure business sustainability.

What does it cost:-

  1. Medium sized businesses (up to 250 employees): £160
  2. Businesses (250+ employees): £480
  3. Technicians who are direct applicants looking to re-enter the industry or change employers: £0

Employers looking to put candidates forward can fill in the application form on the website, telephone 01302 837070 or email: Skills-development-programme@raytheon.com

Learners will need to commit to completing the programme which is delivered through a combination of web-based, virtual, and in-person with hands-on learning.
