Delivered by Made Smarter Yorkshire in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University, the £400,000 initiative has been designed to help manufacturers better understand cyber risks, protect their operations and build the skills needed to respond effectively to emerging threats.
With cyber-attacks becoming increasingly sophisticated and costly for businesses of all sizes, the programme provides a clear pathway for manufacturers to improve their cyber security knowledge and achieve industry-recognised standards, all at no cost to eligible businesses.
The support is available to SME manufacturing businesses based in Doncaster and across Yorkshire and the Humber, with up to two representatives from each business able to take part.
The programme will help participants identify common threats, including phishing attacks, weak password security and vulnerabilities associated with cloud-based systems. It also aims to create internal "Cyber Security Champions" who can promote best practice and strengthen cyber awareness throughout their organisations.
The programme is structured around four progressive levels, allowing businesses to develop their cyber resilience step-by-step.
As manufacturing becomes increasingly digitalised, robust cyber security is essential to protecting critical business systems, intellectual property and customer data. This initiative aims to ensure manufacturers have the skills, knowledge and confidence to operate securely in an increasingly connected world.
