Doncaster-based asset specialists NCM Auctions have been named in the Financial Times FT1000 ranking of Europe’s fastest growing companies for the second time.
The prestigious list, compiled by the Financial Times and Statista, highlights the businesses that have achieved the highest growth rates across Europe.
NCM first appeared in the FT1000 in 2021 at number 365. The company has now returned to the ranking in 2026 at number 545, with revenues growing from £2.5 million at the time of its first entry to £10 million.
The milestone places NCM among a small group of companies that have appeared in the ranking more than once.
It also means the Doncaster business remains the only auction house to feature in the FT1000.
Founded in 2012 by Emma McSkelly, NCM has grown from a local startup into an internationally recognised commercial asset specialist, working with major brands including Claridge’s, Aston Martin, HelloFresh, Frasers Group, DHL, Poundland, Kodak, Speedy Hire, Weetabix and Wembley Stadium.
The company helps organisations unlock value from surplus machinery, equipment and commercial assets through strategic sales and full asset management services.
Emma McSkelly said the recognition reflected both the strength of the business and the support the company received during its early growth.
“NCM started in Doncaster and the support we received locally during those early years played a huge role in helping us grow,” she said.
“Organisations like Business Doncaster and Doncaster Chamber have always championed local businesses and helped create an environment where companies like ours can scale and succeed.”
Emma added that appearing in the FT1000 twice shows how far the business has come.
“When we started NCM we believed the auction industry could work differently,” she said.
“To see the business recognised twice in a ranking like the FT1000 shows that doing things differently can deliver real results.”
The recognition follows another recent accolade for the company, after NCM was named 13th in the Elite Business 100 just last month.
Emma will also share her experiences as a founder later this month, when she speaks at Doncaster Chamber’s Women in Business event on 25 March.
She said the event was an opportunity for her to highlight the growing number of female founders building successful companies.
“Female-led businesses are making a huge contribution to the UK economy,” she said. “It’s always great to be able to share experiences and encourage more women to take that leap into starting and growing a business.”
From its beginnings in Doncaster, NCM has grown into a company working with clients across the UK and internationally.
And with the business now appearing in Europe’s fastest-growing companies list twice, the Doncaster success story is showing NCM is not just a leader in the sector. They’re reshaping it.
