Married couple inspired by daughter to launch babywear business

Jason and Sophie Stokes launched their business, Bon Bons Baby and Toddler Wear, in 2020.

“Our daughter Daisy was the inspiration behind it really,” Jason said.

“My wife was looking for baby clothes and found it hard to find the right things. We thought we could offer something better ourselves.”

Sophie had never owned her own business before and sought support from the Launchpad team to get started.

“I took some courses including a three day start up course, bookkeeping and survival budget,” she said.

“The creating compelling content course was great. It taught me about blogs and the importance of these for my website and also gave me inspiration of how to get my customers to be motivated to buy from me.

“I’ve been doing this by doing live videos and they’ve really helped us as a business!”

Bon Bons Baby and Toddler Wear began as an e-commerce business before moving into markets once Covid-19 restrictions eased.

They now sell unique, quality, and affordable baby clothing at markets every week as well as customers being able to order online.

“We go to the markets all year round,” Jason said.

“If you’re looking to start a business, accept you will have no days off. You work harder than you would for anyone else.

“However, we wish we’d done it sooner. We’re making great money now and have an ambition is to set up a shop one day.”
