Rejus celebrates achieving three ISO accreditations

Rejus Ltd. began as a man in a van in January 2000 essentially servicing maintenance and construction projects for a select number of customers.

The business quickly grew and added additional services to meet the requests of its growing customer base. Now the business works nationally on building projects and maintenance and has developed a strong cleaning division working across the Yorkshire region, servicing a vast range of clients in every sector.

The business is proud to confirm they’ve recently become one of the few Facilities Management companies in the region to achieve all three of the ISO accreditations: Quality Management, Environmental Management and Occupational Health & Safety. Recently audited and verified by the internationally recognised UKAS Management Systems, resulting in the following awards:

• ISO9001 / 2015 - Quality Management Award

• ISO14001 / 2015 - Environmental Management Award

• ISO450001 / 2015 - Occupational Health and Safety Management Award

Commenting on their achievement, Rejus Director Mathew Lynds said: “By leading the way for the industry in our region perhaps we can encourage others to take the same steps in improvement for the community. Whether that’s health and safety, quality, environmental or carbon reduction. Small steps collectively, result in massive change. It must be said that what we've achieved in the last 4 months is outstanding. Its putting us on a national scale, i.e., Rejus do what international and national companies are doing. Small company, big impact.”

Rejus has invested heavily into their head office operations, achieving carbon neutral status, as well as continued and extended to a 10-year sponsorship with a local school for the Duke of Edinburgh awards, and their continued support of Doncaster Knights Cheerleaders. Their overall objective is to have achieved improvements in sales by 10%, reduced costs by 3% and be well on the way to achieving carbon neutral under scope 3, having already achieved scope 1 and 2.

“Our experience working with Business Doncaster has been incredible on every level. It all began with conversations with Ian Guy who has supported and engaged with the Doncaster business community over many years in terms of education and awareness of the Doncaster area and opportunities for tendering, which then led to access support for our push to Carbon Net Zero” added Matthew.

“The subsequent signposting to a range of support packages, funding and direction has been exceptional. We also accessed further support through the Productivity Programme led by Business Doncaster and we were introduced to Tim Steele and Caroline Barker. With the help of Tim and Caroline, we completely overhauled our management system to achieve ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001”.

“This work with Business Doncaster has allowed us to plan clearly, drive efficiencies, reduce costs, which ultimately will protect the business and its employees, add value to customers and open new opportunities and new clients. The Business Doncaster employees with whom we’ve received business support have provided a first-class professional service".

Advance Doncaster has also provided support through accessing additional and complimentary training courses for Rejus staff, either fully funded or subsidised, such as the IOSH Managing Safely course.

Without the support from Business Doncaster it would have taken much longer, been very costly and would have lessened the learning and growth experience Rejus has been able to experience. Rejus is now a much-improved version of the business as they have had the opportunity to review, consolidate and prepare whilst allowing them to scale simply and efficiently and are now ready to make acquisitions and growth.
