Verona moves distribution centre to new warehouse in Doncaster

Tile distributor Verona has moved its distribution centre to Doncaster to provide a central hub to supply the whole of the UK more efficiently.

The distributor, which supplies ceramic, porcelain and natural stone tiles to independent customers, is based in Leeds. The new 106,000sq ft. distribution hub in Thorne, Doncaster will give the company the space to hold additional stock and provide excellent facilities and working conditions for staff.

The new centre is now fully operational.

Verona said it had experienced a period of rapid growth over the past five years and had outgrown its current warehouse space.

Operations manager Philip George said: “As a business, we decided to relocate due to an increase in customer demand, and the need to meet future business requirements. Our new distribution centre will allow us to improve on our excellent level of service, and cater for all areas of the UK in the best way possible.”

Verona Group has received a variety of business support and advice from Business Doncaster and is engaging with Advance Doncaster, it’s employment support service.

The company was set up in 2001 as the Mosaic Tile Company and now claims to be the UK’s largest distributor of tiles and mosaics in natural stone, porcelain and glass.
