Weldricks Pharmacies are now ‘Safe Spaces’

Independent local pharmacy chain, Weldricks, has joined the UK SAYS NO MORE ‘Safe Spaces’ scheme designed to provide safe spaces for anyone experiencing domestic abuse during COVID-19.

“All of the consultation rooms in our branches across South Yorkshire and the Humber are now classed as safe spaces for those victims of abuse who are in need,” explains Nicola Goodberry, Superintendent Pharmacist for Weldricks. “Each of our consultation rooms is open and ready to use and they now display key information on how to access specialist domestic abuse services,” continues Nicola. “If you are experiencing such abuse, simply walk into any of our pharmacies and ask a member of our pharmacy team if you can use the consultation room Once inside the room, you can read the relevant support information and make any calls you need to safely. If you require any further assistance, please ask and we will do our utmost to help.” Nicola concludes: “The surge in domestic violence and abuse across the UK during lockdown has been widely reported over the last few months. All of us at Weldricks wanted to play a small part in providing a safe haven for people who are suffering, and the Safe Spaces scheme has enabled us to do just that. We fully support the campaign’s objectives to end domestic abuse and sexual violence once and for all.” UK SAYS NO MORE is a national campaign to raise awareness to end domestic abuse and sexual violence across the UK.
