A young trader event is being held at Doncaster markets to support the town's youthful entrepreneurs

Traders from a range of business backgrounds will come together to showcase their products in a special event just for entrepreneurs ages 18 to 30.

On Saturday, June 12 the Doncaster Markets will host The Young Trader Market from 10am to 4pm.

Bethan Hammond-Jones is one of the people involved, she said: “It’s really exciting I think it’s going to be really good.

“A lot of people are involved.

“I can’t wait to meet traders that I know online but because of Covid-19 I have not been able to meet in person.”

The market will host bakers, crafters and artists.

Each young person will have their own marquee tent stall outside of the Wool Market.

Bethan created Paint By B and will be showcasing her original artwork.

“Doncaster has so many talented traders,” she continued.

“Seeing everyone together after such a rubbish year is going to be great.

“It feels like a real positive step towards supporting the younger generation and their businesses.”

For many of the young people involved, social media and the internet have played a huge role in their success.

Bethan said that they hope this event will expose their work to a real world audience that hasn’t been possible during the pandemic.

All of the businesses involved have the chance to be nominated through to the Young Traders Market Regional Final, in collaboration with the NMTF.

Our very own Head of Service, Chris Dungworth, will also be judging at the event.
