Eland Cables raise over £10k for Macmillan Cancer

Staff at Doncaster-based Eland Cables have raised over £10k for Macmillan Cancer Support by cycling the Trans-Pennine Trail.

It was 20hrs in the saddle but resulted in a fantastic £10,250 donation to Macmillan Cancer Support! Setting off on their mountain bikes in Southport at 7:45am on Friday, their team of 9 cyclists pedalled into Hull at 15:30 on Sunday.

Following the Trans-Pennine Trail (mostly - there were a couple of detours including a fleeting visit to Eland Cables’ Yorkshire operations), the team set an average speed of 10.4mph for just over 20 hours in the saddle, covering 212 miles (elevation: 5,350 feet)!

The team of amateur cyclists found the ride extremely challenging, however working towards the daily milestones as a team and reaching the objective together felt incredible. The team was delighted to find out they had raised £10,250 on behalf of Macmillan in the process - a charity they proudly support as they all know how important their role is to so many people every year.
