Supporting Doncaster’s  Artists and Creatives: Funding, Collaboration & Partnerships Event:

Join Doncaster Culture Partnership and Arts Council England for an afternoon supporting  Doncaster-based creative practitioners, freelancers, and artists to explore funding opportunities, connect with local cultural organisations, and explore collaborations.

What to Expect:

  • Funding Insights: Learn how to apply for Arts Council England’s National Lottery Project Grants and Developing Your Creative Practice, by attending a presentation from Dan Jarvis, Senior Relationship Manager at Arts Council England.
  • Local Opportunities: Get to know the Arts Council England-funded organisations working in Doncaster — including CAST, Darts (Doncaster Community Arts), Right Up Our Street, and Heritage Doncaster — and how these organisations can support local creatives.
  • Interactive Discussion: Take part in a collaborative session exploring the needs, challenges, and opportunities for creatives in Doncaster.
  • 1:1 Advice Surgeries: Book a 20-minute slot with an Arts Council Relationship Manager for tailored guidance on your project idea (details below).

Who the event is for: This event is for creative practitioners, freelancers, and artists living or working in Doncaster, as well as representatives from local arts, cultural, and community organisations – and especially for anyone who is directly supporting creatives and artists in Doncaster.

Please note: This session is intended to support independent creatives, organisations and networks. If you’re unsure if it’s right for you, please do get in touch at artistsforum@doncaster.gov.uk – we’ll happily help or direct you to another opportunity. Arts Council England Advice Surgeries

Limited advice sessions are available and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, lasting up to 20 minutes. These will take place between 5.15 – 6.30p.m. and can be booked by emailing artistsforum@doncaster.gov.uk.

Please note, these sessions are suitable for those who already have a National Lottery Project Grants idea in mind or would like to talk about Developing Your Creative Practice.

There are a range of other resources on the Arts Council England website to help you with your application plans and it’s a good idea to familiarise yourself with our guidance ahead of your advice session.  

We also have some online sessions available to book here on our Eventbrite page here, these are fully accessible online sessions with BSL and captions hosted on Zoom.  It’s a good idea to attend one of these online sessions too if you can.

 

  • 1.30pm Arrivals and networking2pmWelcome and introductions
  • 2.15 – 3.15pm Presentation from Doncaster cultural organisations on how support and opportunities available for creatives in Doncaster.
  • 3.15 – 3.45pm Q+A3.45pmComfort break and refreshments
  • 4 – 5.10pm Arts Council England presentation: National Lottery Project Grants (NLPG) and Developing Your Creative Practice (DYCP) – presented by Dan Jarvis, Senior Relationship Manager at Arts Council England. Followed by a short Q&A.
  • 5.10 – 6.30pm Arts Council England individual surgeries with individual artists and representatives of arts and creative organisations. Book your 20 minute session by emailing artistsforum@doncaster.gov.uk At the same time as the individual surgeries are taking place, there will also be a space running at the same time for attendees to network and take part in an open forum discussion on the themes and connections made at this event.
