Businesses urged to apply for money still available from COVID-19 support grants

Businesses across the borough are being encouraged to apply for remaining grant funding to help them through the pandemic.

The funding has been made available by the government to Doncaster Council and businesses are encouraged to apply if they are eligible.

There are currently three funding schemes available:

  • Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant (OHLG) scheme - available to rate paying businesses and those not registered to pay business rates (closing date 18 March)
  • Omicron Supply Chain Grant Scheme - ONLY available to businesses registered to pay business rates (closing date 28 February)
  • Omicron International Travel Agent and Tour Operator Scheme - available to rate paying businesses and those not registered to pay business rates (but can evidence fixed business property related costs) and home based businesses with business related costs (closing date 28 February)

The OHLG scheme provides support to businesses in the hospitality, leisure and accommodation sectors with one-off grants of up to £6,000 per premise, supporting those that had been most impacted by the Omicron variant.

Business Doncaster urges those businesses who think they might be eligible to take a look at the website as soon as possible to apply: https://www.doncaster.gov.uk/services/business-investment/covid-19-local-restrictions-business-support-grants

There is also a Covid-19 Additional Relief Fund (CARF), which provides business rate relief for businesses that have not been eligible for other support packages. The scheme can be viewed here: https://www.doncaster.gov.uk/services/business-investment/rates-relief-exemptions
