Currys Business opens new Hub in Doncaster to support local SMEs

Currys Business is investing in local SME support with the launch of a brand-new Business Hub at its Currys Doncaster store, opening on 16 June.

Designed to be more than just a retail space, the Hub will give businesses across Doncaster and the wider South Yorkshire area access to dedicated business support, including face-to-face advice from local experts, flexible ways to pay and tailored tech solutions, positioning Currys Business as a practical local partner for SMEs navigating rising costs and increasingly complex technology needs.

From independent restaurants and retailers to growing construction and logistics providers, Doncaster’s economy is built on a strong mix of entrepreneurship, innovation and local heritage. With city status secured in 2022 and major regeneration projects attracting new investment, it continues to attract new businesses and investment across the region. But like many UK SMEs, local businesses are balancing rising operational costs, tighter margins and the need to invest in the right tech to stay competitive.

The new Currys Business Hub is designed to make that easier, offering straightforward, people-led support tailored to the realities of running a business today.

Local SMEs will benefit from:

  • Expert 1-to-1 support from people who get it: The Hub will be led by a dedicated Business Customer Manager, working directly with local businesses to understand their challenges and recommend practical solutions that fit the way they work.
  • Flexible ways to pay, including leasing: Whether it’s spreading the cost, accessing 30-day credit, or leasing tech to protect cashflow, businesses can access the equipment they need without major upfront costs.
  • Exclusive SME pricing: Competitive pricing across a wide range of business tech, helping every pound go further.
  • Tech that works as hard as you do: From POS systems for hospitality and retail, to laptops, connectivity and appliances for offices and rental properties.
  • End-to-end support: Including installation, setup and responsible recycling of old tech helping to save time, reduce hassle and stay focused on running their business.

Currys Business also plans to work closely with local organisations and the wider business community to support networking opportunities, partnerships and knowledge sharing across the region.

Doncaster is home to almost 10,000 SMEs across sectors including retail, hospitality, construction, transport and logistics, helping to make the city one of Yorkshire's fastest-growing business communities. The Hub is designed to play a meaningful role, acting as a local point of contact for businesses looking for advice, support and practical solutions.

With cost pressures continuing to shape how SMEs invest and operate, the Hub is focused on practical support that makes a difference to local businesses. Whether it’s helping a hospitality business prepare for peak tourist season, supporting landlords with efficient appliance upgrades, or enabling growing teams to stay connected, the focus is simple: helping local businesses operate more efficiently and invest with confidence.

Stephen Abbott, Business Customer Manager, said: “We speak to local businesses every day, and many are trying to balance rising costs with the need to keep investing in the right technology. The Hub is about giving businesses a local point of contact where they can get practical advice, flexible support and solutions that genuinely work for them.”
