Urban Hygiene

Wide ranging support helps local business access new networks and increase sales.

Urban Hygiene, established in the 1990’s, has become a reputable provider of anti-graffiti coatings, graffiti removers, and cleaning products. Supporting a wide range of customers from local authorities to housing associations, its products aim to improve surface performance, durability, functionality and sustainability. More recently, the business has expanded its services to customers across 20 different countries, operating from its central base in Doncaster.

The business realised the need to increase its network of clients and also identified the need to improve the financial processes within the business. Mark Johnson, Director of Urban Hygiene was approached by Mike Stanley from Business Doncaster to offer guidance on how they could access wide-ranging support through Business Doncaster.

Urban Hygiene identified two fundamental elements of the support: to attend a masterclass to learn and improve on existing processes, in particular finances and accounts and 2) to improve its local networks and market the Urban Hygiene brand widely.

Mark Johnson stated that being signposted to local events created a positive impact as it broadened the business’ networks. At one event Urban Hygiene was able to showcase their products, which in turn led to a new contract with a business they had previously tried to engage with. With robust systems now in place the business is appreciative of the support from Business Doncaster.

As a result of the package of business support received, and specifically the new contract, their turnover has increased.
